Big News!

3 years.

3 years, 2 months, 3 days and countless hours (or something like that…)

It’s been 3 years since I’ve broken international ground and well, I’m incredibly excited to share that it’s finally time to do so once again!

Two months from today on, September 17th, I have the amazing opportunity to finally go to…..

Gateway (my church here in Dallas) is an internationally known missions church and partners with over 75 ministries in 23 different countries! I absolutely love our vision statement, “to see all people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped and released to minister-locally, nationally and internationally” and our core value is to go out according to God’s Biblical pattern of going to the Jew first (Romans 1:16). It wasn’t until weeks after starting to pray about this trip that I found out we’ll primarily be ministering to the Jewish population in South Africa! We will be partnering with several local church ministries, assisting with a Messianic Jewish service and a woman’s conference.  I’ll also have the opportunity to be shooting photography the entire trip! Oh and did I mention we’ll be going on a Safari?!!!

Over the past three years I’ve had some amazing opportunities to transition and grow in the secular work environment; from an investment company, to a health care staffing company, to a non-profit, to my current position as the Media Coordinator for Video Production department. While constant transition has its own adventure, traveling and ministering in the nations has continued to burn in my heart. I haven’t always understood exactly why God has opened the doors He has for positions here and there, but His incredibly good leadership continues to amaze me. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! I heard a God whisper years ago that has guided me through each of these seasons, and that has been, “Just follow where I lead.”  That whisper has led me into many interesting places, connecting me with incredible people and taught me things I never thought I’d learn. It has helped me throw control and analyzing out the window and simply just trust His good heart wherever it leads. I’ve yet to be disappointed!

Somewhere about 5 years ago a desire to travel to Africa began to immerge, but almost as quickly as it came so did another whisper, “You’re not ready to go there yet.” While other traveling opportunities opened up, it wasn’t until two years ago that I felt God tell me “Ok, now.” So not only is this trip special because it’s been what seems like such a long break from traveling, but also because it’s been a dream and desire to go there... Africa. The rich and beautiful continent of Africa. Oh I get so excited just thinking about it I want to squeal! God just continues to amaze me with His perfect timing.

The total cost for this trip is $3,450 and I was planning to raise support for the entire trip and just this morning was graciously surprised that $1500 of my trip is already being paid for since I will be going as the photographer. Such a wonderful surprise! God is already providing so beautifully and I am confident He will provide every penny! If you’re interested in helping me financially toward the remaining $1950, and sowing into the country of South Africa, there are a few ways you can give:

You can give online (which is preferred) by going HERE.

        1) First create an account that will send you a confirmation email of your donation.

        2) Then when given an option to “Select a Form” choose “S. Africa-Payments/Donations”

        3) On the following page you’ll see a space where you can place my name specifically

Or, you can send a check made out to Gateway Church with “Jenae Tankersley-S.Africa Trip” in the memo line to this address:  Jenae Tankersley 500 S. Nolen Ste. 300, Southlake, TX 76092.

With any of these options, you’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt at the end of the year. If you’re interested in getting more information or would like a detailed breakdown of the cost involved, please email me at tankjenae22@yahoo.com .

I feel so incredibly blessed for this opportunity! I know a lot of people who would love to serve and minister overseas like this, but they have a family or other commitments that would prevent them from being able to go, so I fully embrace this amazing opportunity to GO in this season! I can’t wait to see what all God has in store for this trip and I am incredibly grateful for your prayers and support as I embark on this next adventure to minister to the people in South Africa! This is a desire fulfilled trip and I’m believing it will be a tree that produces much fruit.

I will be posting updates of this adventure here as well as to Twitter and Facebook if you want to follow along:
