Grace Upon Grace

“Learn the unforced rhythms of grace…”
Grace has never made sense and I doubt it ever will. This unmerited favor poured out on our lives in ways we never could have imagined. As we go from glory to glory, it’s like God takes us from grace to grace. Stepping through each door, following Him into the unknown unlocks another layer of sufficient, yet abundant, grace we didn’t know was possible to receive. Hands open, palms up, humbly knowing we can do nothing on our own. This grace continues to amaze me – in spite of my weaknesses and flaws and failures, He continues to pour it out.
When you realize how much grace you’ve been given and just choose to live there, remembering that, it’s so much easier to just get out of the way. To live open-handed. There’s no striving there. There’s no fear there. He’s got you. You don’t have to prove anything or fight for a seat at the table. Just serve and give it all away. Put others in the spotlight. Rest in that grace and find its rhythm. If you feel resistance, maybe you’ve left grace and are hitting up against a good-ole-wall-a-pride. (Usually when everything gets hard and complex and insecurities rage, pride can be found nearby and it’s not the enemy attacking your calling, it’s God resisting you until that’s dealt with – learned lesson 🙋🏼😬) So just rest in His grace and follow its rhythm. It really is the best place to live free.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬
