Roger and the 7 inch snow…

This morning I’m writing from the comfort of my cozy bed!  It snowed allllllll day yesterday over the metroplex of Dallas and almost broke the all time high!  I think the news reports that it totaled 7 inches! It has been like a winter-wonderland get-a-way!  I went into work late yesterday morning hoping to avoid the crazy Texas drivers who have never seen this white stuff before.  Not that I am an expert really, but I somehow feel my roots of growing up in Arizona and going to visit my grandparents in the mountains as wisdom enough of ‘how to’ drive in this weather.  Although, all the way to work I was coming up with ten very good reasons why I should now purchase an SUV.  Because you never know when a snow storm will hit Texas and it will be needed… of course!
But I went into work, made it all the way there and then turning into my work parking lot, slid right into the curb.  Very anticlimactic, but I got closer to the ditch than I would have liked.  The snow continued to come down and I finally made a co-worker come out in it for a second so she could take a picture of me making a snowball!  (Yes, it has been way too long)  I was in agony all day watching the thick huge snowflakes fall, wanting to be out taking pictures or ‘playing’ in the snow.  Why is that the idea of playing in the snow is always so great, but once you get out there you quickly realize that your body hurts from the frozen pain because you, living in Texas, don’t have the snow attire to stay warm??

Well I inched home from work, opting to take the interstate instead of backroads (because I took the backroads in the morning wanting to avoid cars, but forgetting avoiding cars means avoiding what clears the roads, since we have no snowplows around here),  and walking in my front door was met by both my roommates waiting for me to go play in the snow.  We quickly got ready and ventured to a nearby park!  There were a few other people there with the same idea and lucky for me (the holder of the camera) because the snowball fight quickly began and I was off limits :) !

Then… we made Roger.
Some of the funnest roommates I’ve ever had!
Wait for it…

Don’t ask…

Typical…

He was one heavy dude!

None of us had ever made a snowman before…at least past the age of 5… so we learned alot.
